Jesus said, “I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name and I will do it.” John 14:13-14

Many people desperately need the help that can be extended to them through prayer. We consider it an honour and privilege to pray for others.

If we follow Jesus’ command to love people, it must follow that we will desire for them far more than it is within our power to give them. The ministry of prayer is a wonderful way of loving others.

Two questions:

  • Why should we ask God for things when he already knows our needs? The best answer seems to be that God likes to be asked. The very asking enhances and deepens our relationship with God. Someone has said, “Love loves to be told what it knows already … It wants to be asked for what it longs to give.”

  • Why should we bother God with the petty details of our lives? We are convinced that God is interested in the smallest matters of our lives.

We believe that prayer is a vitally important thing in life. After all, how else do we come to an intimate relationship with God?
