We want to be faithful and competent

interpreters of Scripture.

But how are we to do that?

The Bible is used amongst Christians and within the fellowship of the church to develop our theology. Theology is derived from the two Greek words, "Theos" meaning God and "logos" meaning word. Theology is the means by which God gives us understanding in the things concerning himself and our relationship with him. In a broader sense, theology is Christ living out his life in our lives through his Spirit so we may know God as he knows God and be one with the Father as he and the Father are one.

The interpretation of the Bible is an important undertaking. We want to know what the Bible says and what it really means for us today - not what we think it means or what we would like it to mean. We want to be faithful and competent interpreters of Scripture. But how are we to do that? Many thousands of people throughout Australia meet in groups each week to study the Bible together.

We have a number of Bible study groups operating. If you are interested in attending one of these, ring our minister Pastor Steve Parker, for details.
